Welcome to Florida Red and Blue - the non-partisan, independent campaign dedicated to defeating the so-called "marriage protection" amendment. This intrusive amendment to the Florida Constitution will take away long established rights for ALL non-married Floridians.
In 2008, Florida voters will be asked to vote on an amendment that would take away the ability to visit loved ones in the hospital, harm our seniors, eliminate insurance benefits for non-married couples, and require government to take an even larger role in all our lives.
Florida Government has more important things to do than take away rights and benefits from non-married Floridians. Please come back to our website often for updates and breaking news.
We need your help to defeat this amendment!

ACLU urges opposition to marriage amendment
'Marriage Protection' an unnecessary burden
"By creating only one type of recognized relationship, Amendment 2 could take away existing rights and benefits from many Floridians, gay or straight. If it passes, unmarried Floridians in committed relationships -- especially seniors who may remain unmarried by choice -- could lose their ability to share healthcare coverage. They could be barred from visiting each other in emergency medical situations" - Former U.S. Rep. Jim Davis
